A Trip Down Memory Lane Pre-COVID
Not too long ago, I considered myself to be a fun and adventurous thrill-seeker. Looking back to my experiences pre-COVID, I would say that I lived a pretty good life. Moving forward, I hope that I can continue being the fearless foodie like my idol, Anthony Bourdain. He inspired me to create this blog and I owe it to him to enjoy my life to the fullest.
Here are some places and activities that I particularly enjoy pre-COVID:
Niagara-on-the-Lake 🍷
It’s no secret that I practically go to Niagara-on-the-Lake every weekend for my culinary adventures. My friend and I always go there for summer wine tastings and the Ice Wine Festival. Now that the wineries are opening up again, I intend to go back before the end of summer.
There’s this gorgeous Italian winery called Colaneri Estate Winery that I fell in love with. The picturesque Italian villa made me feel like I was in Italy. Oh, did I mention that I bought the most delicious sparkling wine? It’s called the Recioto Pinot Grigio 2016, which combines the fruity flavours of Pinot Grigio and ice wine.
Skydiving 😎
I’ve gone skydiving TWICE in Innisfil and hang gliding once in Interlaken, Switzerland. Each time, I stared death in the face and I was not scared. There’s nothing better than jumping out of a plane at 12,000 feet. Thanks, Olav, for being the best tandem instructor.
Cinque Terre, Italy ✈
I wrote about my experience in Cinque Terre, Italy, a few years ago and I’m bringing this up again. After all, Italy holds a special place in my heart. There’s something so magical about this place. I’ll always remember Ristorante Ciak and the most amazing spaghetti with mussels dish. It’s no wonder this village is one of the top foodie destinations in the world. I’d go back in a heartbeat once this pandemic is over.
Ninja New York – Manhattan, NYC ✈
A few years ago, I took a trip to NYC. Never did I think I’d end up going to a theme restaurant called Ninja New York. It’s closed now and I consider myself lucky for having the chance to dine at such a unique establishment. I enjoyed the enormous steak and the creative presentation of the sushi served on a plate surrounded by liquid nitrogen. The ninja servers added an element of fun and surprise.
