By the way, I made these cheddar biscuits for myself because I was so depressed from not getting the job at Canadian Tire and being led on for weeks and weeks. I had the worst experience ever. I will never interview there ever again. My dream job gone. Rejected again, the story of my life. Sorry I had to vent.

Easy Cheddar Biscuits with Chives

Ingredients
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese (I used Kraft cheddar cheese with habenaro pepper)
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • For topping:
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoon chopped chives
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
Directions
  • Step 1 Preheat oven 450 degrees fahrenheit
  • Step 2 In a large bowl, whisk in flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, garlic powder and buttermilk
  • Step 3 Pour in melted butter and cheddar cheese and toss until evenly coated
  • Step 4 Press dough together into a loose ball with your hands
  • Step 5 Lightly flour work surface and gently knead dough 10 times. Roll out dough with a rolling pin 3/4-inch thick.
  • Step 6 Using a cookie cutter, cut out 12 squares and place on top of parchment paper in baking sheet
  • Step 7 Stir together butter, paprika and chives. Brush on top of biscuits
  • Step 8 Bake for 20 minutes until golden brown
  • Step 9 Let the biscuits cool for 10 minutes and serve
